Warrant Arrest:

On Friday the 30th of January 2026 members of the Elgin County OPP brought a 41-year-old female to the Elgin County Court house on an unrelated matter when it was learned the female party had an existing bench warrant held by our service related to an impaired driving charge (ST24000414). The female was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for court. Incident ST26001617

IPV Bail Violations:

On Friday afternoon we received a report from a victim of previous intimate partner violence that her former partner had contacted her contrary to his release conditions. A warrant is currently being sought for the male, charged Fail to Comply with Release Order and Fail to Comply with probation. Incident ST26001638.

On Friday night an officer on general patrol spotted a male party and a female party together, the male being currently on conditions not to associate with said female. The thirty-year-old male was arrested, charged fail to comply with release order x3 and later released with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST26001661.

R.I.D.E. Program and impaired driver:

On Friday night officers conducted a RIDE program at several locations in the City of St Thomas. During the RIDE check officers detected evidence that a male driver had been consuming alcohol while operating his vehicle. The male gave a sample into a roadside screening device on demand and registered a failure. The forty-one-year-old male was transported to the station where he provided two breath samples in excess of the 80mg limit. The male was charged with several highway traffic act and liquor licence control act offences as well as impaired operation and over operate in excess of 80mgs. The male was released on an undertaking with conditions. Incidents ST26001659/ST26001666.
