Shoplifting:

On Friday the 23rd of January we were contacted to attend an east end store for reports of an incident of theft. Loss prevention advised that a male and a female had attended the store and left without paying for merchandise, leaving in a grey SUV. The licence plate was identified on video and the matter is currently under investigation. Incident ST26001208.

On Friday afternoon we were contacted by the same store who reported a male just left with a basket full of merchandise without paying. The male was located in the area, arrested, and the stolen property was recovered. The 30-year-old St Thomas resident was charged with theft under $5000.00 and a breach of his release conditions. The male was later released with a future court date. Incident ST26001225

On Friday evening we were contacted by a store in the downtown core who reported an older male, with a white beard and wearing a black puffy coat, attended the store and left with personal items and clothing. Video is to be provided and the matter is under investigation. On Friday night were contacted to attend an east end business for a report of a male shoplifter leaving the store. A 45-year-old St Thomas resident was arrested and the stolen property was recovered. The male was later released with a future court date and conditions. Incident ST26001244.

Warrant Arrests:

On Friday evening we were called to the St Thomas Elgin General Hospital for a male patient that had been discharged but was refusing to leave. While dealing with said male they learned that he had an existing warrant held by the London Police Service for theft of motor vehicle. The 39-year-old St Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held in cells until officers from London Police attended to transport him to their station. Incident ST26001230

On Friday night officers on general patrol observed a male known to them to be wanted on an existing unendorsed bench warrant held by our service. The 43-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for weekend video court. Incident ST26001258
