Warrant Arrests, Shoplifters, Vehicle Entries and Police Pursuit

On Friday January 2, 2026 Officers were called to a downtown address in response to a female that was out of control and causing a disturbance.  The 40yr old St. Thomas woman was identified and was wanted by police.  The woman was arrested on the strength of an unendorsed Bench Warrant and brought before the courts.  She would later be released by the courts.  ST26000066/ST26000067/ST25015527.

Later in the afternoon a 30yr old St. Thomas man attended the station for a separate matter, but was found to be wanted on outstanding charges.  The man was arrested by officers and released with a future court date.  ST26000079/ST25022967

Officers investigated 2 separate incidents of Shoplifting in the 1063 block of Talbot Street on Friday.  In the first instance officers arrested a 42yr old St. Thomas man, after it was alleged that he had fled from the store with an unknown amount of merchandise which he concealed.  Officers were able to locate and apprehend the male a short distance from the store.  He was held in custody and would later appear in court.  ST26000077

The second incident at the 1063 block involved a 29yr old female being apprehended by store staff for theft under $5000.  She would later be released with a future court date.

Friday night officers made two separate warrant arrests of 2 females.  The first, officers arrested a 45yr old St. Thomas resident on reasonable and probable grounds for possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x2).  She would be processed and released on an Undertaking with conditions to abide by. ST26000094.  In the second instance, a 35yr old resident was arrested on the strength of an unendorsed bench warrant.  She would be held for Weekend and Statutory Holiday court, and released on Saturday morning.  ST26000099

The identity of a woman involved in a separate shoplifting incident is being sought after officers received reports early Friday night.  The female suspect is alleged to have stolen a case of Mike’s Hard Lemonade from the retail store.  A vehicle license plate was obtained of the suspect’s vehicle and the matter is currently being investigated.  ST26000093

Early Saturday morning several officers were involved in a brief pursuit after a suspect vehicle had failed to stop.  Officers had been previously dealing with a male at a south side residence, when he and his girlfriend got into a stolen vehicle and attempted to flee the area.  Officers attempted to intercept the truck, previously reported stolen to the OPP, but were unsuccessful.  The vehicle and suspects were last seen exiting the city’s south end.  As a result a 42yr old Sarnia man and 35yr old Sarnia woman are now wanted for numerous offences, including Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, Carless Driving, Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited(x3) and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
