STPS Media Release – Saturday, September 27th.

We responded to a residence where a fishing boat parked in a driveway was entered and items were stolen. Further investigation revealed that suspects removed a cover off of a boat and stole a black down rigger for fishing, estimated at $330. This remains under investigation. Ref #ST25017574

A vehicle on Manitoba Street was entered overnight and items were stolen. We spoke with the complainant who reports that a wallet with identification and a few small items were taken from the vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. Ref# ST25017580

We arrested and charged a 41-year-old St. Thomas resident with impaired operation by drug as well as disqualified driving. This individual was located by a citizen in the Orchard Park/Empire Pkwy area. We attended the area, took custody of the driver who performed poorly for a police drug recognition expert, and brought them to the police station where they were later released with a future court date and conditions. We attended a retail store located in the 1063 Talbot Street business park regarding a shoplifting. Investigation revealed that three youths attended the store and stole $40 worth of grocery items and left the store without attempting to pay for the items. This remains under investigation. We investigated the theft of a bicycle from a north end address. A silver and blue Fiji mountain bike was stolen out of a trailer and valued at $700. Police later found the bike at the Inn located at 10 Princess Avenue. The bicycle has been seized and the owner has been contacted in order to retrieve the bike. Ref# ST25017600

We arrested and charged a 21-year-old St. Thomas resident with breaching a condition of their probation. This individual was on conditions not to attend an address and breached that condition. This person was released by police with a future court date and conditions. Ref# ST25017611

We are investigating a shoplifting which occurred in the 1010 Talbot Street business park. An adult attended the establishment and stole a 60oz bottle of vodka worth $106.00 and left the store without paying. We are waiting on surveillance video to further the investigation. Ref# ST25017612

We responded to a report of an individual stealing from vehicles on Elysian Street. A homeowner observed an individual inside their car and the individual fled on foot. The suspect dropped a purse that had been stolen from another vehicle in the area. The property was returned to the rightful owner and no other items appeared to be missing. Ref# ST25017640

We arrested a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of an arrest warrant. This individual was later released by police with a future court date. Ref# ST25017642
