Multiple Warrant Arrests, Thefts, Break-In’s and Seized property
Vehicle Entered and Stolen property used
Sometime after midnight on Saturday morning a St. Thomas owner’s vehicle was entered and wallet taken. It was also discovered that debit/credit cards were used following the theft. The cards were used at a local convenience store. Video is being reviewed as this matter remains under investigation. ST25017163
Numerous Warrants executed
On Saturday Officers executed 3 arrest warrants on three different St. Thomas residents. In the first instance a 45 year old St. Thomas man was arrested for Theft Under $5000- Shoplifting. After being taken into custody the man was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date (ST25017172). In the second interaction a 37 year old was located and found to be wanted on a Bench Warrant. That individual would be arrested and released with a future court date (ST25017175). Finally a 33 year old St. Thomas women was arrested on the strength of a warrant for Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting. Following her arrest and detention she was later released on an Undertaking with Conditions and future court date (ST25017186).
Arrest Made in Criminal Harassment Case
Following an investigation into a criminal harassment matter, a 42 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. The male was arrested following a complaint, that he had previously been warned in regards to, and subsequently charged. He will appear in St. Thomas court in the near future, but will be required to abide by conditions of an Undertaking while awaiting his appearance. ST25017091
Stolen Property Recovered
A tricycle previously reported stolen to police was located Saturday afternoon by members of the Community Response Unit. The owner was contacted and the tricycle returned. ST25017184/ST25017106
Break and Enter to Apartment downtown
A St. Thomas resident in the 500 block of Talbot Street has reported a break-in to their apartment unit. Unknown persons forced entry through the only door, and stole a Makita handsaw and Milwaukee drill bits. This matter remains under investigation, pending CCTV footage. ST25017193
Theft of a Trail Cam
A Hemlock Street resident reported the theft of their trail cam from the rear of their property late Saturday afternoon. The camera had been affixed to a tree on their property and discovered stolen after 1:30 yesterday afternoon. There have been no suspects identified in this matter. ST25017201
Suspect Identity Being Sought
An employee at a local dealership, reported passing by after hours on Saturday and observing and unknown male leaving the area carrying a red metal stand from the dealership’s body shop. Officers attended the area but were unable to locate the individual. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage to obtain suspect information. sT25017207
Wellbeing Check results in warrant request
After being contacted by local EMS to check on the wellbeing of a local resident officers learned that an individual responsible for the call was currently bound by a release order to not contact the individual in question. After determining that the resident was in good physical and mental health, officers investigated the matter further, learning of the failure to comply with conditions. The whereabouts of the suspect are currently unknown and a warrant is being sought in connection to this matter. ST25017230
Property Recovered, looking for the owner
During the clean-up of a local encampment Saturday morning, members of the Community Resource team and uniformed officers located numerous items that are suspected to have been stolen. Police are requesting assistance in identifying the owners of the property recovered.
