Fraud
A local resident is out $800 after falling victim to an online scam. The individual had been communicating with someone online, promising a large lump sum of money if the smaller transaction was first processed. The victim sent they requested amount before realizing they had been scammed. ST25014063
A local resident is out $88,000 after noticing two transfers out of their bank account to an unknown account at another financial institution. On Thursday, the victim contacted police to report the incident that involved two unauthorized transactions on separate days this. STPS Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating. ST25014071
Warrant Arrests
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. While on an unrelated call for service, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for Failure to Comply with Probation. The individual was arrested, processed and released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST25014086
A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. While at an address on the southside of the city Thursday afternoon, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Fraud. The individual had been charged after an investigation into the unauthorized use of a credit card in March of 2024. The 41 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25014090
Harassment
A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to investigate the report of unwanted communication. On Thursday evening, the victim in this matter attended police headquarters to report that the accused had been following them around downtown, even after that had been asked to no longer communicate with the individual. Officers reviewed available CCTV surveillance in the area at time of the complaint. Through investigation, police charged the 34 year old with one count of Criminal Harassment. The individual was located and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25014046
Theft
A blue mountain bike has been reported stolen from a restaurant on Talbot Street. On Thursday morning, we were called to the area by the owner of the bike who had enter the restaurant to order food and while inside, their bike was stolen. CCTV of the incident is available and being reviewed. ST25014057
