Recovered stolen vehicle/ stolen property/ drug possession

In the late afternoon, vigilant officers observed a 45 year old male known to them operating a stolen vehicle (stolen out of London) in the east end of the city. We located the male a short time later in the downtown core where he was arrested for possession of stolen property. Search incident to arrest, we found the male was in possession of stolen ID, bank cards and vehicle documents previously reported missing from vehicle entries. The male also had a small quantity of drugs in his possession. The accused was subsequently charged with possession of stolen property over $5000, 2 counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, possession of a controlled substance as well as driving while suspended. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions. The recovered stolen vehicle was returned to its rightful owner. ST25013585

Family dispute- Assault

In the early morning hours, we attended an address in the downtown core for reports of a family dispute that had turned physical. Following our investigation, a 29 yr old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with Assault cause bodily harm after choking the other family member which cause minor injuries. The accused was later released on conditions with a future court date. ST25013553

Shoplift/resist/escape lawful custody

In the late morning hours, we were contacted by loss prevention at a local grocery store reporting a male had attended and stole a number of items before leaving in a vehicle. Later that afternoon, the same male re-attended the store where we were able to locate and place him under arrest. The male resisted arrest and attempted to escape Police custody however was safely apprehended. The male, a 27 year old, was charged with theft under, resist arrest and escape lawful custody. We transported the accused back to the STPS station where he was processed and released with conditions and a future court date. ST25013573

Fail to comply arrest

In the late afternoon hours, we located a 33 year old male wanted on reasonable grounds for 4 counts of breaching his probation order. We had initially been contacted in the early morning hours after the male had gone to an address that he was on conditions not to attend, all stemming from previous intimate partner violence related offences. We arrested the accused and transported him back to the STPS station where he was lodged in cells awaiting a morning court appearance. ST25013597/ ST25013550

Bike Theft & recovery

We were called to attend a business in the 1063 block of Talbot after a citizen called to report that someone had taken their bike which they had left unlocked outside the store. After taking report, reviewing video and checking the area, we located the bike in question left abandoned by the thief. We were able to return the bike to its rightful owner. No charges at this time. ST25013598

Shoplift

We attended the 1063 block of Talbot for reports of a shoplift incident where an individual had entered the store and stole a number of items before leaving the property. We were able to locate the suspect involved nearby where we placed them under arrest. We charged the 37 year old with theft under. We later released the accused on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25013615

On July 31st, we were contacted to investigate a shoplift incident which had occurred the day before in the 1063 block of Talbot Street. A female party entered the store and concealed a number of items before leaving. We are reviewing store video in an attempt to identify the suspect involved. ST25013539

Mischief

We are investigating after a local car dealership in the south end had vehicles damaged over the weekend. Employees came in to notice damage to one of the vehicle’s windshields. We canvassed the area for video as we look to find those responsible. R.I.D.E/ 3-day licence suspension

We conducted a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program last night, covering a number of areas in the city. Hundreds of vehicles were stopped with drivers spoken to. One 3-day licence suspension was issued to a driver that registered an “ALERT” on an Approved Roadside Screening Device. The individual had their licence seized & suspended, while their vehicle had to be driven from the scene by a sober licenced driver. We want to remind the community to plan ahead, drive sober. Warrant arrests

Members of our Community Resource Unit arrested a 32 year old on an outstanding warrant issued for having missed court. The individual was released with a future court date. ST25013557

We attended an address on the south side of the city to execute a warrant on a 41 year old who was wanted for breaching their conditional sentence order. We transported the individual to court where they were remanded into custody. ST25013562

We located and executed an 810 recog warrant on a 38 year old St. Thomas resident. The individual was explained the conditions on the recognizance and released. ST25013593

Officers at the court house arrested a 28 year old wanted on an outstanding warrant. They were released with a new court date. ST25013566

We arrested a 39 year old wanted on an outstanding warrant for having missed a previous court date. The individual was released with a new court date. ST25013568

We located and arrested a 42 year old male wanted on a warrant issued for missing court. The male was released with a future court date. ST25013592

While in the 1063 Talbot area, vigilant officers located a 39 year old female wanted on a 1st instance warrant for theft under $5000, Fail to comply with undertaking and fail to comply with probation.
