Warrant arrests:
On Wednesday morning a female party attending court at the Elgin County Court House was arrested on an outstanding warrant held by our service for assault. The 30-year-old female was processed and taken to court. Incident ST25008927.
On Wednesday afternoon officers at an unrelated call for service when they learned that one of the involved parties was currently wanted on a warrant held by our service for break and enter. The 58-year-old female was arrested and transported to the station where she was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST25008941.
On Wednesday evening officers on general patrol observed a female party they knew to be wanted on a warrant held by our service for previous bail violations. The 36-year-old female was arrested and transported to the station where she was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date. Incident ST25008859.
Unlawfully in Dwelling:
On the morning of Wednesday the 29th of May 2025, we were called to a downtown apartment for a male party that had been previously evicted, who had returned to the building and refusing to leave. Officers learned that the 72-year-old St Thomas resident had an existing warrant held by the Oxford OPP. The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and turned over to Oxford OPP Incident ST25008929.
Later that afternoon upon release by the OPP the same male returned to the building several times. The male was entering neighbouring apartments without permission by simply walking in and was attempting to gain access to his old apartment by climbing across balconies. The male was later arrested for unlawfully in a dwelling, breach of probation and breach of a conditional sentence order and held for court. Incident ST25008960.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On Tuesday afternoon a female victim attended the station to report historic abuse towards herself and one of her children at the hands of her common-law partner. The male party was arrested and charged with assault and sexual assault towards his adult female partner and assault and assault with a weapon towards the youth. The male party has been held for court. Incident ST25008879.
