Assault – Intimate Partner Violence 

Two St. Thomas residents have been charged after we attended a disturbance at 2:00 a.m. this morning. At that time, we were called to an address on the northside of the city to investigate the report of an escalating argument. When we arrived, it was determined that an argument between spouses had resulted in a physical altercation, where both parties were found to be responsible for assaulting each other.  As a result:

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon.

A 45 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count of Assault.

Both parties were transported to police headquarters, processed and released with future court dates. ST25006125

Warrant Arrests 

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested on Monday morning. Officers located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier this month. We transported the individual to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006081

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant. The individual had been charged with Causing a Disturbance after an incident at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital in February. We processed the individual who was then released with a future court date. ST25006084/2625

An 18 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested downtown on Monday afternoon. The individual had been charged with Breach of Probation after an incident last week. We processed the individual who was then released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST25006088

Theft

$500 worth of merchandise has been reported stolen from a grocery store on Wellington Street. On Monday, we were called to the store to investigate the report of two unknown individuals attending the store and failing to pay for their items. We are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as we continue to investigate and work to identify the involved parties. ST25006090

Grocery items have been reported stolen from a grocery store on Talbot Street. On Monday afternoon, we were called to the store to investigate the report on an unknown individual failing to pay for their items. Video of the individual is being reviewed as we continue to investigate. ST25006097

A wallet and a set of keys have been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Monday, we were contacted by the vehicle owner who reported that at some point in the overnight hours, their vehicle had been entered and their property had been stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25006056

Mischief 

Several businesses in the 400 block of Talbot Street have been damaged with graffiti. On Monday morning, we were called to the area to investigate the report of multiple businesses being tagged with spray paint. We are currently reviewing available CCTV as we continue to investigate. ST25006085
