Aggravated Assault
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested following an investigation into the report of an assault. On Sunday April 13th 2025, we were called to the hospital on behalf of the victim, who reported that at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday they had been assaulted by a neighbour in their apartment building on the southside of the city. Through investigation, we learned that when attempting to check on the well being of an individual in the accused apartment, they were met with brut force and were assaulted with a hammer. The victim sustained serious injury and was taken to the hospital to be treated.
Investigating officers identified the accused and charged them with Aggravated Assault. A warrant for arrest was requested and at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, the 29 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested. A search of their premises found the weapon used in the assault and a conductive energy weapon. The individual was additionally charged with Unauthorized Possession of a weapon.
The 29 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held to attend court, this morning. ST25006028
Assault Cause Bodily Harm
A 14 year old has been charged after we were called to a neighbour dispute on Sunday afternoon. At 1:20 p.m. we attended an address on the northside of the city to investigate the report of a dispute in progress. Upon arrival, police were made aware of an individual in need of medical attention and EMS attended to transport the victim to the hospital. Through investigation, officers learned that the 14 year old accused had assaulted the victim and subsequently charged the individual with one count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm. The 14 year old later attended police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006040
Mischief
A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after causing damage to several vehicles on St. George Street, Sunday morning. Just before 11 a.m. we were called to the area by a concerned citizen who reported an individual was in the area using a large rock to cause damage to vehicles. When we arrived, we located the individual responsible for the damage. We spoke with one of the vehicle owners who reported they were threatened by the accused when they approached them in an attempt to move they away from their vehicle. As a result, the 46 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with three counts of Mischief and one count of Uttering Threats. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006033
Theft
We are currently investigating the report of a theft from a downtown grocery store. On Sunday April 13th 2025, we were called to the store by management who had captured the individual on CCTV failing to pay for their items. This remains under investigation. ST25006064
