Weapons Investigation 

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after an incident in the city, last night. On Thursday January 30th 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers were called to an address on the northside of the city to investigate the report of an individual being threatened with a gun. Upon arrival, police learn the victim had returned home to find the accused waiting for them. The two are known to each and known to have an ongoing dispute. It was reported the victim was threaten by the accused who produced a gun during the altercation before leaving the area in their vehicle. A description of the vehicle and the accused were provided to police who located the individual at an address on Talbot Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning.

The 36 year old has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Pointing a Firearm

They were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for court. As a result of their court appearance, the 36 year old was remanded into custody. ST25001732

Threats – Resist Arrest 

A 52 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to family dispute. On Thursday January 30th 2025, police were called to an address on Manor Road to investigate the report of the accused threating to harm a member of their family. Upon arrival, the 52 year old became combative and actively resisted arrest. Officers were successful in their arrest, charging the individual with one count of Utter Threats – Cause Death and one count of Resist Peace Officer. The 52 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed to attend court and subsequently remanded into custody. ST25001737

Warrant Arrest

A 29 year old Ridgetown resident has been arrested. On Thursday January 30th 2025, STPS were contacted by the Chatham Kent Police Service who had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant, issued 2021 when the 29 year old was charged with four counts of Theft under $5,000, two counts of Mischief, and Theft over $5,000 (Motor Vehicle). St. Thomas police attended and took custody of the individual who was transported to STPS headquarters, processed to attend court and remanded into custody. ST25001709

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by police for Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for stealing a phone, has been arrested. On Thursday January 30th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in. The 35 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. Theft

Approximately $200 and a radio has been reported stolen from a vehicle, parked on Talbot Street. On Thursday January 30th 2025, police were contacted to investigate the report of an unknown person entering the vehicle and stealing the items. Video of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST25001697

Mischief

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of several commercial vehicles being damaged. On Thursday January 30th 2025, officers attended a business on South Edgeware Road after an employee arrived at work for the day and notice the damage. Police are reviewing video surveillance in the area as they continue to investigate. ST25001702

Failure to Comply

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday January 30th 2025, officers were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Release Order. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court and was remanded into custody. ST25001722
