Impaired Operation
A 23 year old London resident has been arrested after police were called to a collision just before 6 a.m.. Officers attended St. George Street near Cowan Park after being notified by collision reporting software that a crash was detected. Upon arrival, police located damage to a guardrail in the area with the damaged vehicle located a short distance away, unoccupied. Officers searched the area and located the 23 year old driver, on foot. While speaking with the individual, officers were concerned the driver may be impaired and a roadside screening device was administered, resulting in a fail. The 23 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where further testing confirmed the individual was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently charged with Operation while Impaired – Plus 80. Their license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. ST25001320
Warrant Arrests
A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday January 22nd 2025, while on an unrelated call for service, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for 3 counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and Theft under $5,000. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and transferred to court. ST25001282/0936
A 26 year old Mississauga resident has been arrested. On Wednesday January 22nd 2025, STPS were contacted by Brant County OPP who had the individual in their custody on the strength of our warrant, stemming from an incident in November 2024 where the 26 year old had been charged with Sexual Interference, Luring a Person Under 16 and Invitation to Sexual Touching. Officers attended Brant County to take custody and transport the individual to St. Thomas Police Headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25001293
Theft
Approximately $86 worth of groceries have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday January 22nd 2025, police were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown individual leaving the store without to paying for their items. The individual was approached by store staff who were able to retrieve most of the items. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the person responsible. ST25001272
Approximately $250 worth of groceries have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday January 22nd 2025, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of two unknown individuals leaving the store without paying for the items in their cart.
