Vehicle Entries
An unlocked vehicle was entered while parked at a public parking lot in the east end of the city. The owner left the vehicle unattended while shopping on December 29th and upon returning realized their accessible parking permit had been stolen. ST24023367.
Another vehicle was entered overnight on December 29th and this time, the suspect got away with the owner’s identification and bank cards. The vehicle was left unlocked while the owner visited a friend near the city centre. The debit cards were later used at a local convenience store. ST24023374.
Intimate Partner Violence
A 32-year-old female has been arrested for two counts of assault against her partner. Following two separate disputes that resulted in police being called but charges not laid, the victim attended the police station and provided a statement detailing the violence. The female was later arrested without incident and was released with a future court date. ST24023333.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Two drivers were taken to hospital following a serious motor vehicle collision on December 30th. The driver at fault made a left-hand turn on a green light without first making sure it was clear. The vehicle collided with another vehicle that was travelling straight through the intersection in the opposite direction. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene. The drivers were treated for minor injuries at the hospital. ST24023402.
Theft
Several items were stolen overnight on December 30th from a fenced backyard in the west end of the city. The items stolen include a tricycle, bicycle, propane tank, and barbeque. Warrant Arrests
On New Year’s Day, a 63-year-old male was arrested by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an unendorsed bench warrant held by the STPS. The warrant is in relation to an impaired driving charge from 2019. Members of the Cobourg police transported the male to STPS headquarters where the male was held for a court appearance. ST25000030.
Early on January 2nd, police arrested a 36-year-old St. Thomas man on the strength of an unendorsed warrant for failing to comply with his probation. The male was transported to police headquarters to be held for morning court. ST2500047.
Shortly after 2am on January 2nd, police arrested a 32-year-old male wanted on an unendorsed bench warrant. The male failed to attend court to answer to charges of Theft Under $5000, Assault, and Fail to Comply with Probation. The male was transported to police headquarters to be held for morning court.
