Criminal Harassment and Failing to Comply

Porch flowers lead to arrest. St. Thomas Police arrest a 72-year-old St. Thomas resident, after an ex-partner reported receiving flowers and a note left on the porch. An ankle monitoring company confirms the individual attended the ex’s address. The individual is on court ordered conditions to not contact or communicate with the ex, and not to attend the address. The individual was arrested and charged with 1 count of Criminal Harassment, and 2 counts of Failing to Comply with Release Order. The individual was arrested, transported to Police Headquarters and held for a court appearance. ST24020230

Warrant Arrests

St. Thomas Police arrest a 53-year-old St. Thomas resident, after turning themselves in at Police Headquarters. The individual was caught on camera stealing $663.85 worth of merchandise from a local business, in April of this year.  The accused was processed at the station, and released with a future court date. St. Thomas Police at Elgin County Courthouse arrest a 33-year-old Aylmer resident on the strength of an outstanding warrant. The individual who was at court for an unrelated matter, was arrested, and held for a court appearance. ST24020311

While on an unrelated call for service, St. Thomas Police arrest a 31-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of a warrant. The individual had failed to attend court, and was subsequently charged, arrested, and transported to court for an appearance. ST24020315

Theft

St. Thomas Police are investigating vehicle entries on the city’s south side. Sometime overnight multiple unlocked vehicles were entered and items were stolen. A Carhartt jacket valued at 250$ was amongst the items stolen. Video surveillance is being reviewed. St. Thomas Police Service wishes to remind the public to lock their vehicles and bring all valuables inside. ST24020309

Stolen and Recovered Vehicle

St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of a 1999 Grey GMC Sierra truck from a residential area in the city’s south end. Sometime overnight the victim reports the vehicle stolen right out of the laneway. The vehicle was locked, keys were accounted for, and the truck had a full tank of gas. Shortly after the initial report, St. Thomas Police were contacted by London Police Service, notifying them, that the same vehicle, was recovered and had been set on fire. The incident is still under investigation. ST24020284

Assault

Restaurant patron, assaulted by construction worker. St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown establishment, when nearby construction site worker, attended for lunch and pushed the victim after a verbal exchange. Police are reviewing video to identify the construction worker. ST24020298

Assault with a Weapon and Threats

Police were called to a wooded area behind a local school, for a report of an assault involving a knife, and threats. A group of youth, playing in the woods were confronted by an individual who was residing in a tent in the area. A knife was used to threaten the youth to stay away. The 37-year-old St. Thomas resident, was charged, arrested, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and released with a future court date. ST24020320.

St. Thomas Police Service would like to ask the public to stay away from what appears to be a campsite, and instead contact the Police Service, so the appropriate resources can be offered.
