Intimate Partner Violence 

A 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged following an investigation. On Saturday November 2nd 2024, the victim in this matter attended police headquarters to report several incidents of assault between spouses, dating back to 2022. Through investigation, police form grounds to charge the 47 year old with Assault. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24019945

The St. Thomas Police Service remains committed to addressing and preventing intimate partner violence (IPV).

November is Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month, aimed at raising awareness about IPV, impacting people of all genders and backgrounds. The effects of IPV are far-reaching, also impacting children, friends and family of victims.

IPV can take many forms, including physical and sexual violence, emotional abuse, criminal harassment and financial abuse.
