St. Thomas, ON – Wednesday October 30th 2024
The St. Thomas Police Service is urging all drivers to check their license expiry dates and renew promptly, as our Traffic Management Unit has noted a rise in instances of expired licenses over recent months. Driving with an expired license in Ontario can result in fines starting at $325, which may also lead to demerit points and insurance implications.
Ontario residents can conveniently renew their licenses online through the Service Ontario website. To simplify future renewals, drivers can also register for free reminders by email, text, or phone. Renewal requires a valid driver’s license number, health card (if updating), and postal code. Drivers will receive a temporary validation document while waiting for their new card, which typically arrives within 4-6 weeks.
