St. Thomas Police Service media release for Saturday October 5th, 2024

On the 4th day of October 2024 police attended a southside address for a theft during the overnight hours.  The victim reported two bicycles stolen from their backyard.  The first one is a youth CCM mountain bike green and yellow.  The second one is a teal Easy Rider bike with a basket on the front, anyone with information is asked to contact STPS and reference incident # ST24017901.

After a lengthy investigation by our Criminal Investigations Branch a 67-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested for sexual related offences.  The victims were known to the accused. The male appeared at the Elgin County Court house where he was remanded into custody.  ST24017903.

On the 4th day of October 2024 St. Thomas Police Service was contacted by Waterloo Regional Police advising they had a 22-year-old Orangeville man in custody on our warrant.  St. Thomas Police took custody of the male and transported him back to St. Thomas.  The male appeared in court and was remanded into custody.  ST24017903.

On the 4th day of October 2024, a 34-year-old St. Thomas man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  The male was released with a future court date.  ST24017912.

On the 4th day of October 2024 police attended a downtown shelter for a report of an assault.  As a result of police investigation, it was determined a 44-year-old St. Thomas woman had assaulted the victim with a weapon causing minor injuries.  The female fled the area and a warrant is being sought for her arrest.  The victim was transported to hospital for assessment.  ST24017940.

On the 5th day of October 2025 just before 2 AM STPS officers stopped a vehicle on Fairview Avenue at Elm Street.  The driver was given a demand to provide a sample of their breath as it was determined they had been consuming alcohol.  The 31-year-old St. Thomas man refused to provide a sample.  The male was charged with refusal and released on a future court date.  ST24017960
