Impaired Operation 

A 57 year old Southwold resident has been charged with Impaired Operation after an alert citizen contacted police. On Monday September 23rd 2024, officers were called to a Talbot Street address to investigate the report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and its driver who, through investigation officers believed they were showing signs of impaired. An alcohol screening device was administered roadside with the driver registering a fail. The 57 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where further testing concluded the individual to be impaired by alcohol, registering nearly twice the legal limit. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24017156

Warrant Arrests

A 55 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday September 23rd 2024, STPS received a 911 call in relation to a suspicious person walking with what appeared to be an axe. A description of the individual was provided to police who were able to located the person in question. The 55 year old was in possession of an axe and through investigation, officers learned the individual was wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. The individual was cooperative with police, was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24017182

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday September 23rd 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. The 41 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24017194

Break and Enter

On Monday September 23rd 2024 officers were called to second address on Currah Road to investigate the report of Sea Can on a commercial property having the lock cut off and it being entered. This remains under investigation. ST24017134

Mischief

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a broken window. On Monday September 23rd 2024, officers were called to a residence on Ross Street by staff who wish to report an unknown person had attended the area and broke a window with a screwdriver. Police are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24017144

Approximately $500 of damage to a fence has been reported to police. On Monday September 23rd 2024, officers attended an address on Fairview Avenue to investigate the damage, reported to be caused by an known group of youth the night previous. Officers are reviewing the available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24017149
