Warrant Arrests

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday September 18th 2024, STPS we called in regards to an unwanted person. Police attended an address on Talbot Street and located the individual, who, through investigation officers learned was wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation stemming from an incident in August. The 36 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24016818

A 47 year old St. Thomas resident has been remanded into custody after being located by police, who were notified by a remote monitoring company that the individual had tampered with their monitoring device. Officers attended the last known location of the individual, locating and arresting them. The 47 year old was known to police to also be wanted on several outstanding warrants with our service for Assault, Break and Enter, Bail Violations and CDSA charges stemming from incidents in June, July and August. The individual was transported to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance and was subsequently remanded into custody. ST24016821

As the result of an ongoing investigation by the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service, a 23 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday September 18th 2024, STPS assisted the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E) and the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service in the arrest of the individual who was wanted on several charges stemming from an incident on September 14th, 2024. A 26 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday September 18th 2024, officers were called to a retail store on First Avenue to investigate the report of an unknown person leaving the store with a bag full of merchandise. Officers located the individual matching the description provided. The individual was known to police and through investigation, it was learned the 26 year old was wanted by our service for several offences dating back to March of 2023. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24016855

Assault 

A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a northside address, last night. Upon arrival, officers learned an argument between spouses had escalated resulting in a physical altercation. As a result, the 36 year old was charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. No injuries were sustained as a result of the altercation. ST24016845

Theft Investigation

As a part on an ongoing theft investigation, the STPS is seeking assistance in identify the individual in the photo below:

Original – An electric ratchet, valued at $299 has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Monday September 16th 2024, police were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown person entering the store, selecting the item and continuing to exit without paying. If recognize this individual in the photo below, please contact police at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. ST24016685

Theft

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident that occurred at a grocery store on Talbot Street, yesterday afternoon. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24016799

Baked goods have been reported stolen from a grocery store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday September 18th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of an unknown person attending the store, selecting the items and failing to pay. STPS are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST24016835

A green Norco bike (seen in the photo below) has been reported stolen from an address on Wawa Street. On Wednesday September 18th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of an unknown person entering the backyard of a home and stealing the bike from a shed. Police are canvassing the area for video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24016827
