Impaired operation:

In the morning hours on Friday the 13th of September an alert citizen contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report a possible impaired driver – with the vehicle striking the curb numerous times while travelling in front of the complainant. Police attended and located the vehicle and after speaking with the driver formed grounds that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. The 67-year-old London resident was arrested and transported to the station for a Drug recognition evaluation – where he performed poorly. The male was charged impaired operation and later released with a future court date.  Incident ST24016430.

Shoplift x2:

On Friday morning officers were dispatched to attend an east end business for report of a female shoplifter who took merchandise while in the store the day before. Store loss prevention provided information that the female had attended and left without paying for merchandise. The female was identified by officers via security video. A warrant has been sought for the 33-year-old St Thomas resident – charged with theft under $5000.00.  Incident ST24016435.

On Friday afternoon officers attended a north end business for reports of a male shoplifter who had attended the store and left without paying for product. Video was obtained of the male as well as a potential vehicle that he was a passenger in. The matter is under investigation by Police. Fail to comply:

On Friday afternoon a local female contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report unwanted communication by her ex-partner – who is currently on conditions to not communicate or associate with the victim from previous domestic related convictions. A warrant is being sought for the arrest of the 30-year-old London resident – charged with fail to comply with probation order. Incident ST24016444.

Break and Enter:

On Friday afternoon an east end resident contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report their shed was broken into and a bicycle was stolen. Police attended and learned that sometime overnight on the 12th of September 2024. A male suspect was observed in the area at the time of the theft and was chased by neighbours away from the area again the following morning. The incident was captured by neighbouring surveillance cameras and is under investigation by Police. The stolen bicycle was blue in colour but the make and model are unknown at this time. Warrant Arrest:

On Friday evening a 59-year-old male attended the front counter of the St Thomas Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant. The St Thomas resident was arrested and later released with a future court date. Incident ST24016476.
