Vehicle Entry

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Inkerman Street. On Thursday September 12th 2024, officers were called to investigate the report of a wallet being stolen and the bank cards being used at various locations in the city. No damage to the vehicle was reported. This remains under investigation. ST24016344

 Theft

St. Thomas police are investigating a theft that occurred from an Elm Street retail store. On Thursday September 12th 2024, police attended the store to investigate the report of an unknown person distracting an employee and stealing a quantity of merchandise. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST24016347

St. Thomas police are looking to identify the individual in the photo below in relation to a theft investigation. On Thursday September 12th 2024, STPS were called to a retail store on Edward Street to investigate the report on an unknown person attending the store, concealing several tools in a duffle bag and leaving the area, failing to pay. If you recognize this individual, please contact police at 519-631-1224 or a submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. ST24016402

Warrant Arrest 

A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday September 12th 2024, while on an unrelated call for service, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime stemming from incidents in October of 2023. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance ST24016379

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday September 12th 2024, STPS were notified but Elgin OPP that they had the individual in custody on the strength of our outstanding warrants for Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Utter Threats and Failure to Comply stemming from an incident in January of 2024. The individual was transported to St. Thomas police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24016374

Found Bike

A black, Hyper Mountain bike has been recovered by police. On Thursday September 12th 2024, police were called to an address on Talbot Street to retrieve the bike after an employee of a business in the area, found it upon arriving to work.
