Break and Enter 

Approximately $1,000 of copper wiring has been reported stolen from a business on Edward Street. On Tuesday September 3rd 2024, STPS were called to the business by an employee who wished to report that upon returning to work from the weekend, a secured fenced area had been cut allowing access to the material. St. Thomas police are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24015676

Arson

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by police after being identified as the person responsible for setting a fire at an address on Talbot Street. On August 31st 2024, STPS entered into an investigation in regards to the incident. Through investigation and review of available video surveillance, the 35 year old has been charged with one count of Arson – Disregard for Human Life and one count Fail to Comply with Probation Order after setting a fire to the perimeter of a building while an event was taking place at the address. The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24015705

Theft 

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday September 4th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters on an unrelated matter. Upon leaving, the 40 year old who is known to police, removed property from the lobby. Police later attended the individual’s address to retrieve the stolen property and charged the individual with Theft under $5,000 and Breach of Probation. They were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24015774
