Assault Police – Resist Arrest – A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested
On Wednesday August 15th 2024, just after 10:00 p.m. officers on community patrol located an individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for several charges in relation to separate incidents that had occurred between October 2023 and July 2024. The charges include Assault with a Weapon, Break and Enter, Robbery and Failure to Comply with Release Order.
The 32 year old was approached by police and directed to stop. The accused ignored the request and attempted to flee the area on foot. While attempting to arrest the individual, they were combative with police and struck an officer.
Police successfully arrested the individual who was charged with Assault a Peace Officer and Resist Peace Officer.
The accused was transported to police headquarters to be processed.
A search incident to arrest, found the accused to be in possession of a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The individual was additionally charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Oxycodone.
The 32 year old was held for a morning court appearance and remanded into custody.
