Impaired Operation

A 41-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday, August 12th 2024, St. Thomas Police were called regarding an individual who had been consuming alcohol, driving their vehicle, and attempting to leave a location on the north side of the city. Police attended the reported address and located the 41-year-old, who was showing signs of impairment. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where testing concluded the driver was impaired by alcohol. As a result, the 41-year-old has been charged with one count of Operation while Impaired and Operation while Impaired Over 80. The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver was issued a 90-day suspension, processed, and released with a future court date. ST24014180

Break and Enter

Approximately $5,000 worth of wire has been reported stolen from a construction site on the west side of the city. On Monday, August 12th 2024, St. Thomas Police were contacted by the site supervisor, who returned to work from the weekend and found the locked area of the job site had the lock cut and the wire stolen. This remains under investigation. ST24014120

A 46-year-old St. Thomas resident has been charged after police were called to investigate the report of an unwanted person. On Monday, August 12th 2024, officers were called to an address on Myrtle Street by a homeowner who reported a person, bound by current release conditions not to attend the address, had gained entry to their home and was causing a disturbance. The 46-year-old, known to police, had left the area prior to police arrival. As a result, the individual has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Undertaking, Break and Enter, and Mischief. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24014130

Warrant Arrests

A 32-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were notified by their remote monitor that the individual was at an address they are currently under release conditions not to attend. STPS attended and located the individual, who has two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order and Failure to Comply with Probation. The 32-year-old was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court, and was remanded into custody. ST24014137

A 33-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. This morning, just before 4 a.m. officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident in June. The 33-year-old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24014182

Vehicle Entries

A vehicle on Parkside Drive has been reported entered. On Monday, August 12th, 2024, the vehicle owner contacted police to report the entry that occurred sometime during the overnight hours. ST24014129

No damage to either vehicle was reported, and nothing was reported stolen.
