Theft

A vehicle has been damaged and approximately $10,000 of property has been reported stolen from a vehicle on the southside of the city. On Friday June 21st 2024, police were called by the vehicle owner who wished to report a window of their vehicle that was parked in the laneway of their home had a window smashed and the contents of the vehicle, stolen. Included in the items stolen is a customized set of golf clubs. Police are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24010462

Warrant Arrests

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday June 21st 2024, officers responded to the report of an unwanted person attempting to gain access to a residence near the center of the city. Upon arrival, police located the individual who was known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for two counts of Break and Enter and three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation, stemming from an incident earlier the month. The 30 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and additionally charged with three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and one count of Possession of Schedule I substance and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse for a court appearance where they were released by the courts. A 47 year old Aylmer resident has been arrested. On Friday June 21st 2024, STPS were contacted by Aylmer Police who had the individual in custody on the strength of an outstanding probation warrant. Custody was transferred to St. Thomas Police and the individual was transported to STPS HQ where they were processed and released on an undertaking with future court date. ST24010492

A 22 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday June 21st 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for two counts of Trespass at Night, two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation, two counts of theft under $5,000 in relation to an incident on June 17th. The 22 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24010496

Harassment

A 22 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Friday June 21st 2024, STPS were called to investigate the report of unwanted communication. Through investigation, officers learned the individual had been repeatedly contacting an individual even after being a spoken to by police on several occasions. As a result, the 22 year old was charged with one count of Criminal Harassment. The individual was located and transported police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24010511
