Police were called to the area of Harlequin Court and Renaissance Drive in the city’s south end earlier this evening. Officers remained in the area for several hours as a result of an active investigation. Throughout the isolated incident there was no risk to public safety and neighbours in the immediate vicinity were made aware to remain inside their residences as a precaution. As a result a male subject was taken into police custody and the investigation continues with charges pending in relation to an assault and mischief. No officers nor the subject were injured during the incident. As a precaution the male subject was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for assessment.
