Intimate Partner Violence
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, officers were called to a southside neighbourhood to investigate the report of an assault. Through investigation, police learned a verbal altercation between the accused and their spouse had escalated, resulting in physical injury. As a result, the 33 year old has been charged with one count of Obstruct Peace Officer, one count of Resist Peace Officer, one count of Assault – Spousal and one count of Assault. Failure to Comply
A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, St. Thomas police were contacted in regards to unwanted communication. Through investigation, officers learned the 39 year old had made contact with an individual they were on conditions to not communicate with. As a result, the 39 year old was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking, transported to police headquarters and held for a morning court appearance. ST24007821

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident, wanted by STPS has been arrested. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual who had been charged with Possession of a Firearm, Administer Noxious Thing, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order in relation to an incident on May 3rd 2024. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for one count Break and Enter and one count Failure to Comply with Undertaking in relation to an investigation in April. Police attended the area and located the 35 year old who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Release Order. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they were notified of an outstanding warrant with our service for Breach of Probation stemming from an incident in January. On Tuesday May 14th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an investigation that began on May 5th 2024. The 44 year old had been charged with one count of Assault, one count of Sexual Assault, one count of Assault with a weapon and one count of Uttering Threats.
