Warrant
A 52 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday January 23rd 2024, officers were called to an area downtown for the report of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located the 52 year old known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for one count of Arson stemming from an incident in 2022. The St. Thomas resident was arrested, processed on the charges and released on an appearance notice. ST24001055
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday January 23rd 2024, officers on community patrol were called to a restaurant in the 900 block of Talbot Street to move along an unwanted party. Upon arrival, police located a 32 year old known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for 2 counts of Theft under $5,000 and Breach of Probation. Police informed the individual that they were under arrest at which time they fled the area on a bike. After a brief pursuit, STPS located and arrested the individual who was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and additionally charged with Resist Peace Officer. As a result of a court appearance, the 32 year old was released on an appearance notice. ST24001061
Theft
A tool kit valued at approximately $900 has been stolen from a retail store on Edward Street. On Tuesday January 23rd 2024, St. Thomas police were called to investigate the incident that had occurred around 6:30 p.m. It was reported that an unknown person dressed in black with a black toque on, entered the store and selected the tool kit before exiting the store without paying. The individual was seen leaving the area in a dark coloured SUV. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST24001093
