Break and enter

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a residential break and enter. On Tuesday January 2nd 2024, officers were called to a northside residence to investigate the reports of several items within the home being stolen. Through investigation, officers learned that entry had been gained to the home and approximately $600 of the victims property had been removed. STPS are currently reviewing available video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST24000051

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the theft of $1,800 worth of scratch off lottery tickets. On Tuesday January 2nd 2024, officers were called to a local gas station to investigate the report of an unknown person posing as a contracted HVAC employee, who entered the store and informed the store clerk maintenance was to be performed on the thermostats throughout the location. The suspect left the store with the tickets, a short time later. This remains under investigation by the St. Thomas Police Service’ Criminal Investigation Branch. Warrant arrest

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday January 3rd 2024, officers observed the individual on the property of police headquarters attempting to interfere with the parking gates. Police recognized the individual to be the same person who tied the front doors of the building shut with a blanket earlier this week and were aware of an outstanding warrant for Mischief from that incident. The 38 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested and brought inside to be processed on the charges, later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST2400100
