Warrant Arrests
A 45 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to comply with release order. A 22 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. As the result of an investigation from November 13th, the 22 year old was wanted by our service for two counts of Operation while prohibited, Driving while under suspension, Failure to comply with undertaking and Theft under $5,000. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, the individual was located and taken into custody. The 22 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23020157
30 year old, Shaylee Murphy has been arrested. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, officers responded to an unrelated disturbance call and located Murphy who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for assault. Murphy had been charged after being identified as one of the parties involved in a downtown assault at a Church in September. Murphy was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and held for court. She was remanded into custody. ST23020184/ST230120174
A 44 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for theft. The 44 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23020188
Theft
A dark blue mountain bike, valued at approximately $100 has been reported stolen. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, officers were called to a grocery store on Talbot Street to investigate the theft. Through investigation it was learned that an employee of the store locked their bike to the rack outside before attending their shift. When the employee returned to the bike rack after their shift, the bike lock had been cut and the bike stolen. Police were able to review available video of the incident are working to identify the suspect. ST23020153
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, at approximately 4 p.m. St. Thomas police were called to a pharmacy on Talbot Street for the report of an unwanted person and a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival, the individual was found to still be on the premises and was arrested. The 33 year old was charged with one count Theft under $5,000 and one count failure to comply with probation order. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23020166
33 year old Matthew Howes is wanted by police after being identified as the individual responsible for the theft of $3,000 electric scanner, stolen from retail store on Talbot Street on Wednesday November 15th, 2023. Howes has been charged with one count Theft under $5,000 and one count failure to comply with probation order. ST23020182
Failure to comply
A 48 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday November 16th 2023, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for failing to complying with their release conditions. The St. Thomas resident was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for court. The 48 year old was remanded into custody. ST23020165/20193
Assault
A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 15th 2023, officers were called to a disturbance at an address on the north side of the city. Upon arrival, it was learned an argument between known parties had turned physical and damaged was caused to a vehicle. Through investigation, police formed grounds to charge the 39 year old with one count of assault and one count of mischief. The St. Thomas resident was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a future court date. ST23020180
Assault with a weapon
St. Thomas police are currently investigating an assault that occurred just after midnight on November 5th 2023. The victim attended police headquarters to report being sprayed in the face with what was believed to be pepper spray after interacting with a group of youth. CCTV footage is being reviewed. Stolen vehicle, recovered
A Nissan Rogue, reported stolen from an address in the west end of the city has been recovered. On Tuesday November 14th 2023, officers were called to investigate the theft that occurred sometime in the overnight hours of November 9th. STPS were contacted by Chatham Kent Police Service who had located the vehicle in their area. The vehicle was located unoccupied and the local owner was contacted. ST23020086/20113
