Awareness, Engagement, Prevention the theme of this years Crime Prevention Week.
Over the course of the last week, the St. Thomas Police Service has participated in the week-long promotion of crime prevention, supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and police services across Ontario.
This week, we’ve highlighted some of our most important crime prevention programs and tips for citizens of St. Thomas to protect themselves from crime. Lock it or lose it. Ways to protect yourself from property crime. How to spot a scam. Registering your bike with 529 Garage and lastly, our Community Resource Unit, compiled of six Special Constables detailed to our downtown core.
Preventing crimes before they occur will always the best way to keep our communities safe. We stand in recognition that the citizens of St. Thomas remain are strongest partnership in ensuring our city continues to be safe and healthy.
