Theft
A black and blue North Rock bike and a backpack with two Acer laptops has been reported stolen. On Friday October 27th 2023, St. Thomas police were called by the owner of the items who wished to report they had been stolen around 3 p.m. by an unknown person in the old Lynhurst area of city. A 44 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after STPS were called by retail staff at a Talbot Street location to investigate a theft that had occurred on On Saturday October 28th 2023. Police were able to review the available video which captured the suspect fill a cart with approximately $550 of store merchandise, leave the store without paying and load the items in a vehicle before leaving the area. Officers were able to identify the accused and have requested a warrant for arrest. ST23019053
A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday October 29th 2023, St. Thomas police were called in relation to a theft in progress. Officers attended the area and located the 28 year old suspect with the merchandise reported stolen. The 28 year old was charged with one count Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019123

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Saturday October 28th 2023, officers were dealing the with 41 year old on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant from 2022 for Impaired Operation. The St. Thomas resident was processed and released with a future court date. ST23019087
A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday October 29th 2023, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for a theft that occurred last week. The St. Thomas resident was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019113
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Sunday October 29th 2023, officers located the individual on Talbot Street. The St. Thomas resident was wanted by our service for Breach of Probation and was taken into custody. The 33 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a future court date. ST23019115
Fraud
St. Thomas police are currently investigating a bank fraud. On Sunday October 29th 2023, STPS was contacted by the victim who reports being out $4,000 after falling victim to a bank scam when they were contacted by someone falsely identifying themselves as an employee of the fraud department the victim does their banking with. This remains under investigation. ST23019063
