Mischief

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the report of damage done to the garden of a home on the south side of the city. Upon arrival, police were provided video of the incident that showed a person known to the victim destroying the flower bed on the property. STPS we able to locate and arrest the 30 year old who was charged with one count of Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23014575

Arrested – Indecent Acts 

A 59 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 officers on community encountered the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for one count Indecent Acts stemming from an incident in July. The 59 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and attended court, subsequently released by the courts. ST23014558/ST23012049

Arrested – Theft

A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by a local retail business to investigate the report of a theft. Through investigation, it was learned an electric scooter valued at $800 had been stolen. The suspect’s identity was confirmed after review of the available in store video surveillance and officers were able to locate them a short distance. As a result, the 29 year old was charge with one count Theft under $5,000 and transported to police headquarters to be processed and attend court, subsequently being remanded into custody. Disqualified Driver

A 28 year old London resident has been charged with several driving offense after police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the north end of the city on Thursday August 17th, 2023.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. Both vehicles did require a tow due to damage.

The 28 year old London resident has been charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Careless Driving
  • Fail to have insurance card

The individual was release on an appearance notice. ST23014621

Arrested – Arson 

A 26 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by a homeowner in a south side neighbourhood who reported a person known to them attended their residence, ignited an article of clothing and threw it on the deck of the home. At the time of the incident, the home was occupied by the residents of the home, their children and pets. The residents of the home were notified by their security cameras and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.  Through investigation and review of the security camera video, police were able to confirm the identity of the suspect who was located a short distance away. The 26 year old was arrested and charged with one count Arson – Disregard for Human Life and one count Failure to Comply with Probation. While being processed on the charges at police headquarters, STPS were made aware of an outstanding warrant from London Police Service. As a result, the 26 year old was released on an undertaking and custody was transferred to LPS. ST23014628

Arrested – Outstanding Warrant 

A 44 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service for Breach of Probation. The individual was arrested and processed and subsequently release on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST23014632
