Warrant Arrest

A 39 year old London resident has been arrested. On Thursday August 17th, 2023 St. Thomas police were notified by London police that they had the 39 year old in custody on the strength of our warrant for two counts of Assault and one count Sexual Assault. Officers attended London to take custody and transport the individual to STPS headquarters. The London resident was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday August 16th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to move along an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located an individual known to them to be wanted by our service for failing to comply with their release order. The 33 year old was arrested, processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23014504

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday August 16th, 2023 the St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Assault, stemming from an incident in July. The 40 year old was processed and released and on undertaking with a future court date. ST23014548

Traffic Enforcement

Fifty vehicles were stopped and four Provincial Offence Notices were served to drivers during a traffic enforcement initiative on Wednesday August 16th, 2023.

Two, Fail to Wear Seatbelt

Break and Enter 

On Wednesday August 16th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate a suspected break and enter to a building on Talbot Street. The owner of the building called police after attending the location to find the door handles tampered with and the rear door open. While clearing the building STPS found evidence of damage to a gate and pry marks on the door. Video surveillance of the unknown suspect was captured. This remains under investigation. ST23014519

Stolen Bike

A steel grey, specialized bike valued at $1,500 has been reported stolen from a garage on the north side of the city. St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft after the homeowner reports leaving the residence for a short time and returning to find a silver BMX Hyper Snafu on their property and their bike, gone. This remains under investigation. ST23014556

Trespass notice

Stolen merchandise has been recovered and a 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been trespassed from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday August 16th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by loss prevention officers of the store who wished to have the individual trespassed from the location after a theft. STPS were able to located the individual who returned the stolen merchandise and was subsequently served the trespass notice. ST23014523

Assault

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday August 16th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by the manager of a residence who wished to report an assault had occurred. Through investigation and review of video surveillance, police formed grounds to charged the 43 year old with one count of Assault. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed and held for court. The victim sustained minor injuries, treated by EMS. ST23014527
