THEFT
On June 19th, Officers on Community Patrol attended the construction site on Talbot Street after the workers reported a theft that had occurred over the weekend. A $12,000 Diesel Packer was stolen. Video surveillance was viewed and a 48 year old St. Thomas resident was identified as the culprit. A warrant has been issued for their arrest for Theft Over $5,000. ST23010720

ROBBERY
Officers on Community Patrol attended a business on Talbot Street last week after the store owner reported a robbery that had occurred at their store on June 26th. A 50 year old St. Thomas resident had attended the store and entered the back room and stole the owners personal property. The suspect was confronted by the owner and a struggle ensued. All the items were returned to the owner except some cash. A warrant has been issued for the suspect for the charge of Robbery. ST23011949
WARRANTS
Officers on Community Patrol located a 43 year old St. Thomas resident yesterday in the downtown area. They were arrested without incident for a warrant that is stemming from a Theft charge and failing to comply with their release condition. They were transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing and were held for court, where they were remanded into custody.
Officers on Community Patrol located a 27 year old St. Thomas resident yesterday in the downtown area. This person had identified themselves falsely to Police from an incident earlier in the day. The person was arrested without incident and charged with Failing to comply with their release order x 2 and Obstruct Police. They were transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing and held overnight for court today.
Early this morning OPP Elgin officers located a 37 year old St. Thomas resident in the cities south end who was wanted on a warrant by St. Thomas Police. They were arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building for processing. The charges stem from a shoplifting incident. They were later released with a future court date.

Yesterday Officers on Community Patrol were called to an address after the resident reported that a person who was on a court order not to communicate with them had just walked down their street and started yelling profanities at them. The 32 year old St. Thomas resident was located a couple hours later downtown and was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice building. While in the booking room they damaged some property. They were charged with Fail to Comply with their Release Order, Fail to Comply with their Probation Order and Mischief Under $5,000. They were held in custody overnight to appear in court today.
SCAM ALERT
A St. Thomas resident reported yesterday to Police that they had fallen to an online scam. They applied to an on line Job ad on Facebook, and were successful. The employer, who only communicated through Facebook Messenger, directed them to purchase two $500 Apple gift cards for ‘customer appreciation gifts.’ The employer sent a fraudulent cheque for $1,000 to the victim. The victim purchased the gift cards and sent photos of the cards to the employer. They were asked to purchase more gift cards and the victim refused. ST23012362
