Theft

33 year old Joshua Marcotte has been arrested. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called by staff of a retail store on Talbot Street who reported that an unknown person had run out of the back of the store with merchandise. St. Thomas police were in the area at the time of the incident and quickly located Marcotte a short distance away along with the merchandise reported stolen from the retail store. As a result, Marcotte was arrested and charged with one count Theft under $5,000. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released on an undertaking ST23010836

Property returned

A St. Thomas resident was happy to have their property returned after reporting a vehicle entry to police. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate a theft that occurred sometime in the overnight hours of June 19th, 2023. Later the same day, STPS were contacted by a resident who had found the property abandoned near their home. Police collected the property and the rightful owner was contacted. Vehicle Entries 

A cell phone valued at $500 has been reported stolen from a vehicle on East Street. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft that occurred sometime in the overnight hours. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST23010803

Designer sunglasses and a utility knife have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Talbot Street. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft that occurred sometime in the overnight hours. Some damage to the interior of the vehicle was reported. STPS are reviewing available video surveillance. ST23010846

Arrested

A 17 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 at approximately 11:15 p.m. STPS were called to a disturbance in a local park. Upon arrival, police located two individuals known to police to have conditions not be in the presence of one another. Through further investigation, grounds were formed to charged the youth with Uttering Threats in addition to Failure to Comply with Sentence. The 17 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23010861

Assault and Mischief

Two St. Thomas residents have been arrested. On Tuesday June 20th, 2023 at approximately 10:00 p.m. STPS were called to a disturbance in a home between two parties, known to each other. Upon arrival, the two had separated with one collecting belongings to leave. Through investigation, it was learned that an assault had taken place. As a result, a 59 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with one count of Assault. It was also learned that during the disturbance, property of the accused had been broken. As a result, a 45 year old has been charged with one count Mischief. Both were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23010806
