Theft
On Sunday April 9th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a theft that had occurred from a home on the south side of the city. Reported stolen was a red, stacking chair. ST23005690
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to a local retail store to investigate a shoplifting incident that had occurred in March. The retail store had obtained video surveillance from the incident and wished to share it with Police. STPS attended and continue to investigate. ST23005740
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to a residence in a north side neighbourhood to investigate the theft of a meal delivery box. St. Thomas Police are reviewing available video surveillance while continuing their investigation. ST23005744
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to a local restaurant to investigate the theft of a bicycle. It was reported that the bicycle had been locked to a secured area between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. but had been stolen upon the owners return. Video surveillance was available and is being reviewed. ST23005745
Failure to Comply
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to an area downtown to investigate an unwanted party. Upon arrival, STPS located a female known to them to be bound by conditions to not attend the area. Subsequently, the 32 year old St. Thomas female was charged with 1 count Failure to Comply. She was served an appearance notice and release from the area. ST23005719
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate the report of person who was in breach of their release conditions. St. Thomas Police attended an address on the south side of the city and as a result formed grounds to charge a 41 year old St. Thomas male with 1 count Failure to Comply with release conditions. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST23005724
Break and Enter
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a break and enter that had occurred at a new construction site near the downtown core. Through investigation it was learned that sometime between April 7th and April 10th, a Dewalt air compressor valued at $150 and a tool bag containing approximately $200 worth of drywall tools had been stolen. On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a break and enter that had occurred to several storage trailers at a business in the industrial area of the city. It was reported that the windows of the trucks attached to the trailers had been smashed and the product in the trailers had been scattered around the area. Upon arrival, St. Thomas Police were able to located the trailers and through investigation it was learned that 44 cases of expired beer (retail value $2,923.80) meant for disposal, had been stolen. Vehicle Entry
On Monday April 10th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a vehicle entry that had occurred in the laneway of a home on the south side of the city. The home owner was able to capture a person enter his vehicle at approximately 4:30 a.m. Reported stolen was some loose change. The vehicle had been rummaged through with no damaged reported. Traffic stop leads to multiple charges
On Monday April 10th 2023, Officers on general patrol observed a vehicle that appeared to have an issue with the front drivers side wheel. The vehicle was safely able to come to a stop at the request of the Officer. Through investigation, it was revealed that the driver, a 30 year old Southwold male was disqualified with current warrants for his arrest. He was subsequently charged with:
- 1 count operate unsafe vehicle
- 1 count use plate not authorized for vehicle
- 1 count driving while under suspension
- 3 counts operation while prohibited under the criminal code
The passenger and owner of the vehicle was a 32 year old St. Thomas female. Through further investigation, she was charged with:
- 1 count operation without insurance
- 1 count operation of unsafe vehicle

Motor Vehicle Collision
On Monday April 10th 2023 at approximately 4:40 PM, St. Thomas Police were called to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Elm Street. The pedestrian, a 26 year old St. Thomas male sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital to be treated. The driver, a 37 year old St. Thomas man was also taken to hospital as a precaution. St. Thomas Police are continuing to investigate. ST23005753
