Assault
Police are investigating an assault that occurred at a downtown address on Saturday afternoon. The assault left the victim with an eye injury requiring medical attention. Charges are pending. ^5177
Fraud
On Sunday evening police attended a north end business for reports of a possible identity fraud. Investigation revealed that a 48 year old St Thomas female had presented ID belonging to another female as her own. The ID was determined to be stolen. As a result, the female is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Identity Fraud, and Fail to Comply with Probation x 2. Police are applying for a warrant. ^5236
Assault
On Sunday evening police were called to an address in the south end of the city. Investigation revealed a male party had assaulted a female inside the home. The male party was charged with one count of Assault. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was processed and released with a future court date. ^5240
Warrant Arrest
On Sunday night police attended a south end residential area for reports of a suspicious male. Police located 32 year old Joseph Howald in the area. Police knew Howald to be wanted on several warrants with our service. Howald was arrested on the strength of the warrants and transported to the Colin McGregor Building where he was later released by the courts. ^5247
Break and Enter
The Property Crime Unit is investigating after two break and enters were reported to a business in the Industrial Zone of the city. The first incident occurred sometime over the weekend and the second occurred overnight on Monday. Approximately $3000 worth of tools is missing. Mischief
Sometime between 5pm on Saturday April 1st and 2pm on Monday April 3rd, an unknown suspect damaged the glass door of a Talbot St business. Entry was not gained nor attempted. Scam
Police are investigating after a St Thomas resident received a letter from a financial lender indicating he owed more than $700. The resident had never opened an account with this company and reported it to police. Investigation revealed an unknown person made two purchases at a local business in October 2022 and used his information to open the credit account. ^5293
