Shoplifting:

On Thursday the 25th of January a male party attended a north end retail location where he selected two power tools and quickly left the store without paying for the merchandise. The male later left the area on a bicycle. A photo is attached below. On Friday the 26th of January a male party attended an east end retail location where a cart was loaded with merchandise totally $447.00 – the male then left the store without paying for the merchandise. Video is being provided and the matter is currently under investigation. On Friday a male, known to store staff and police, attended an east end location where he stole merchandise valued at $5.00. The male had previously been issued a trespass letter by the store and were seeking charges under the Trespass to Property Act. The male is to be located and charged under the TTPA. Assault:

On Friday the 26th of January Police were called to an organization in the downtown core where a security guard had been assaulted by a client of the establishment. It was learned that a 45 year old St Thomas woman had bitten a security guard during an altercation. The accused was arrested and transported to the station – later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date charged with one count of assault. Incident ST24001204.

Warrant Arrest(s):

In the early morning hours on the 27th of January officers on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on a male and a female travelling together on two bicycles. Both parties were previously known to Police. It was discovered that both parties were currently wanted on warrants held by our service. Both parties were arrested on the strength of the warrants. It was further discovered that the female party was currently on release conditions to not associate/communicate with the male party from previous charges.

Search incident to arrest a quantity of drugs were located on the male.

A 54 year old St Thomas male was charged with 4(1) CDSA x2 and later released with a future court date for the new charges and the existing warrant.

A 36 year old St Thomas female was charged with Fail to Comply with a release order and released on a future court date for the new charge and the existing warrant.

Domestic Dispute:

In the early morning hours on the 27th of January Police received several 911 calls regarding a domestic dispute between a male and a female. Police attended and through investigation learned of a series of events that transpired at the residence between the female resident and her ex-partner who had been invited to the home.

It was learned that an argument had ensued during which the female had assaulted the male – who then left the residence for a short period of time before returning and forcing his way back inside by damaging the front door.

A 28 year old male from London was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5000.00 and being unlawfully in a dwelling house and later released on an undertaking with conditions.

A 29 year old St Thomas Female was charged with one count of domestic assault.
