Numerous Thefts

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of a locked Silver Hyper peddle assisted e-bike.  The theft occurred sometime over night from the 500 block of Talbot Street on Friday June 21st.  Video surveillance of the area is being sought.

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft from a local hardware store, which occurred Saturday June 22nd.  An unknown male stole two Husqvarna leaf blowers worth approximately $820. The investigation continues.

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of a Black and Red Nitrous Supercycle sometime over night on June 24th.  The theft occurred from Hemlock Street.

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of an other e-bike.  This one is described as a Black MotoTec electric scooter and was stolen sometime over night on June 25th and valued at approximately $699.  This theft occurred from the Forest Avenue area of the City.  The investigation continues.

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft from a local optical store.  On Thursday, June 27th, an unknown female concealed two pairs of designer glasses and left the store without paying for them.  The investigation continues in an attempt to obtain surveillance video.

The St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of a third e-bike, this one was silver in colour and occurred in the South East side of the City.  The theft was sometime Saturday June 29th.

On Sunday June 3oth, the St. Thomas Police responded to a retail store in regard to a theft in progress.  Through investigation it was learned the male was also responsible for a theft at the same location days prior.  The male has been identified and a warrant is being sought for two counts of Theft under $5000.

Also on Sunday June 30th, six youths attended a local grocery store and filled their pockets with bags of chips, prior to fleeing without paying. Police are investigating the theft further to speak with these youth.

Mischief

On Sunday June 30th, the St. Thomas Police investigated a mischief involving some youth who threw an object at a downtown business window, causing approximately $500 damage.  Police are also investigating another window that was vandalized hours before causing approximately $500 damage.  Both incidents happened within a few blocks of one another.

Impaired

On Monday July 1st police responded to the report of a male who had fallen off his e-bike.  Upon arrival, police determined that the driver of the e-bike had been consuming alcohol and was arrested for Operation while impaired.  The male was transported to the police station where he provided suitable samples of breath and found to be three times the legal limit.  The driver was later released with a future court date.

Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply

On July 1st, police responded to an assault call.  Through investigation, it was revealed that a person was the victim of an unprovoked assault and after a brief struggle, a knife wielded by the suspect was held toward the victim.  The suspect is currently released on two separate court ordered bail conditions.  Both the victim and suspect were familiar with each other.  A warrant is being sought for the arrest of the suspect in this matter.
