Theft/Fraud
On November 9th 2024, a city resident called Police to report that their unlocked vehicle had been entered sometime overnight and their wallet was taken. Checking their bank records, they noticed a number of unauthorized transactions. Following an investigation by Police, Officers identified a 29 yr old St. Thomas resident as the person who used the missing bank cards. The accused was arrested and transported to STPS station where they were processed and released on conditions with a future court date. ST24020433

Warrants
A 56 yr old wanted on an outstanding probation warrant, turned themselves into STPS. They were processed and released with a future court date. ST24020442
A 29 yr old St. Thomas resident was arrested on an outstanding 1st instance warrant for charges of unauthorized use of a credit card and possession of stolen property. The accused was arrested and processed, before being released with a future court date. ST24020455
A 42 yr old London resident was arrested by London Police Service on the strength of an outstanding bench warrant from 2022. STPS Officers attended LPS headquarters and returned the accused party back to STPS station where they were held for WASH court (Weekend And Statutory Holiday). ST24020481
Breach Probation/Threats
A 47 yr old female is currently wanted by Police for uttering threats and breach of probation. Following a call to Police regarding a dispute between a male and female, Officers learned that the female involved was on probation not to be around or communicate with the male party. During the interaction, she threatened the male before leaving prior to Police arrival. Grounds now exist for the female’s arrest and she remains outstanding. ST24020448
FTC – Party to offence
On November 9th, Police were called to a south end apartment building to investigate a possible party to the offence breach involving tenants. Stemming from previous incidents involving two residents, one was placed on conditions not to communicate with the other. On this date, the resident on conditions called to report that the other had been actively & purposely trying to engage the complainant in conversation. Police determined that party to the offence had occurred and a charge would be laid. Police formed grounds to arrest and charge the 48 yr old individual, who remains outstanding. ST24020466
Stolen/Recovered MV
On November 9th, Elgin OPP contacted STPS in regards to a burnt-out vehicle outside of the city. Police determined the registered owner of the vehicle resided in town therefore Officers attended the address where it was learned that the vehicle had been stolen sometime in the evening. The incident remains under investigation. ST24020477
Impaired
In the early morning hours of November 10th, STPS received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver. Officer located the vehicle in question where after speaking with the driver, Officers formed reasonable suspicion that they were operating the vehicle with alcohol in their body. An approved Screening Device was administered resulting in a “FAIL”. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle- 80+, and transported to STPS station for further testing. Further tests showed that the accused had nearly twice the legal amount of alcohol in their body. A 33 yr old St. Thomas resident was subsequently charged with Impaired operation- 80+ and later released with a future court date. Their licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days. ST24020486
Arson
Police are investigating a dumpster fire which occurred in the south end of the city overnight. The St. Thomas Fire Department attended and successfully put out the flames before contacting Police to investigate. Officers are canvassing the area for possible video of the incident while the matter remains under investigation. ST24020489
