St. Catharine Street Search Warrant Yields Gun – Eleven People Arrested

St. Thomas, ONWednesday February 19th 2025

Eleven (11) St. Thomas residents have been arrested after an early morning search warrant on St. Catharine Street at Scott Street. Just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday February 19th 2025, members of the St. Thomas Police Service Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Critical Incident Response Team and Property Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at an address on St. Catharine Street.

A search of the property was conducted and a loaded, sawed off shot gun was recovered.

As a result: 

32 year old, Ryan Cartier of St. Thomas has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of A Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition
  • Possession of Loaded, Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

38 year old, Nicole Guilbault of St. Thomas has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of A Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Loaded, Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

A further search of the residence resulted in the arrest of the following individuals: 

54 year old, Loretta Havell of St. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Scheduled I Substance – Methamphetamine.

37 year old, Jonathan Cedar of St. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Scheduled I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 3 counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order and 2 counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition.

42 year old, Ryan Grant of St. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Scheduled I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

29 year old, Jayme Lyn McMurray of St. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Scheduled I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and on an outstanding warrant in an unrelated incident.

29 year old, Drake Whalley-McIntosh of St. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Scheduled I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and on an outstanding warrant in an unrelated incident.

4 other individuals were arrested on scene and later released, unconditionally.

As the result of court appearances this afternoon:

Ryan Cartier, Nicole Guilbault, Ryan Grant, Jonathan Cedar and Drake Whalley-McIntosh were remanded into custody.

Loretta Havell, was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date.

Jayme Lyn McMurray was processed and released. An outstanding probation warrant has since been issued for her arrest.
