An SIU investigation into an incident that took place in December of 2022 has concluded.
On December 29th, 2022, a 20-year-old man arrested by St. Thomas Police Service officers was taken to hospital with an injury.
On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the man’s serious injury. There was no basis for proceeding with criminal charges in this case, and the file has been closed.
