Sexual Assault
As the result of an investigation led by STPS’ Criminal Investigation Branch, a 26 year old London resident has been arrested. On Tuesday May 28th 2024, with the assistance of London Police Service, the individual was arrested and charged with one count Sexual Assault under 16, one count Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 and Sexual Interference. The 26 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24008802
RIDE
Approximately 60 drivers were spoken to during an early morning RIDE check. Two Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued, one Cannabis Control Act notice was issued and one driver showed no signs of impairment after a standard field sobriety test was conducted. ST24008830
Failure to Comply
A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday May 28th 2024, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse observed the individual engaged in a verbal dispute with a person they are on conditions to not associate with. The 35 year old was charged with one count of Failure to Comply with Undertaking, processed and released with a future court date. ST24008782
Break and Enter
St. Thomas police are currently investigating a break and enter to a storage unit on the north side of the city. On Tuesday May 28th 2024, police were called to investigate the incident that occurred in the overnight hours of Sunday May 26th 2024. Through investigation, officers learned two unknown individuals had gained access to the secured facility, cutting the lock to a unit and removing approximately $2,500 in computers and collectibles. Police are reviewing video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST24008795
Warrant Arrest
A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday May 28th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Possession of Property Obtain by Crime, stemming from an incident in May of 2023. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24008806
