Theft

A light blue touring  bike has been reported stolen. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate the theft from a retail plaza on the north side of the city. Upon arrival, police learned that at approximately 6:30 a.m. the victim entered the store leaving their bike on the patio at which time it was taken by an unknown person(s). STPS are reviewing available video surveillance and continue their investigation. ST23013179

A JBL Charge 4, black speaker has been reported stolen. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, officers on community patrol were flagged down by a resident who wish to report their speaker had been stolen. Police learned that sometime in the overnight hours, while the victim was asleep an unknown person(s) took the speaker valued at approximately $300. STPS are reviewing available video surveillance and continue their investigation. ST23013187

Mischief

Damage to the automated external defibrillator (AED) cabinet at 1Password Park has been reported to St. Thomas Police. STPS were contacted by park staff who report that on July 23rd 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m. three unknown individuals were seen on video throwing rocks at the cabinet which houses the AED, causing it to crack and break. Cost to repair the damage is unknown at the time. This remains under investigation. ST23013193

Arrested

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, officers on community patrol located the resident known to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for two counts Theft under $5000 and one count Trespass at Night. The 37 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a future court date. ST23013185

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, STPS responded to the call of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers recognized the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding probation warrant. The 43 year old was was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a future court date. ST23013214

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, the resident attended the Elgin County court house to appear for court, however court had adjourned for the day. The resident was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from 2020, processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23013219

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, officers on community patrol located the individual known to have an outstanding warrant with our service from an incident in June of 2023 where they were charged with 1 count of Possession of Stolen Property and 3 counts of Use of Credit Card. The 37 year old was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on appearance notice. ST23013191

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday July 25th 2023, St. Thomas police were called to investigation an active dispute between two parties known to each other at a home on the north side of the city. Upon arrival, the involved parties had separated. Through investigation it was learned that a physical altercation had occurred on a date, not previously reported to police. As a result, the 42 year old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with one count Assault. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking. ST23013222
