Multiple arrests

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested on the strength of Ontario Provincial Police warrants. On Monday May 1st 2023, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they were notified of the outstanding warrants for Breach of Probation. The 32 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an appearance notice. ST23007129

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters on Monday May 1st 2023, to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for one count Failure to Comply with Probation and one count Theft under $5,000 after an incident that occurred in April. The 33 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with conditions. ST23007140

An investigation that dates back to August 2022 has concluded with the arrest of a 38 year old St. Thomas resident. On Monday May 1st 2023, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of the warrant with our service for one count Fraud under $5,000 after investigation revealed a cheque that had been cashed at a local business had been returned as a duplicate and cancelled. The 38 year old was processed and release with a future date for fingerprints and court. ST23007151

A 15 year old St. Thomas youth has been arrested for one count of Assault. The youth attended police headquarters on Monday May 1st 2023, to turn themselves in after an altercation that occurred at a local high school in December. The youth was processed and released on a undertaking with conditions. ST23007152

While on a call for service, officers on community patrol interacted with a 35 year old St. Thomas resident known to have an outstanding probation warrant. As such, the 35 year old was place under arrest, processed and released with a future fingerprint and court date. ST23007166

Stolen vehicle, recovered

A Ford F150 reported stolen to city police has been recovered. On Monday May 1st 2023,  St. Thomas police were contacted by the vehicle owner to report that the truck had been stolen and subsequently recovered by Norfolk OPP. The owner reports that the truck was stolen from a residence on the north side of the city sometime between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday April 29th 2023. This remains under investigation. ST23007133

Recently released, 2 people arrested and charged

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident released by the courts on several conditions, has been arrested. On Monday May 1st 2023 St. Thomas police were notified of a GPS ankle bracelet, showing the accused had left their residence contrary to their current conditions. St. Thomas Police were able to locate the 27 year old whom at the time was in the presence of a 24 year old to which there is a no contact order in place. As a result, the 24 year old was charged with one count Failure to Comply – Party to the Offence and the 27 year old was charged with two counts Failure to Comply. The 24 year old was released on an undertaking. The 27 year old was held for court. ST23007145/ST23007174

Theft 

St. Thomas police were called to a retail location on Talbot Street to investigate the theft of tequila. On Monday May 1st 2023, an unknown party entered the location, selected a bottle of tequila and then left the store making no attempt to pay. Alert employees were able to capture the plate of the accused vehicle as well as CCTV within the store. Police are continuing to investigate. ST23007157
