Warrant arrest leads to additional charges
A 38 year old Aylmer resident has been remanded into custody after their warrant arrest led to an incident at the Elgin County Courthouse. On Friday May 17th 2024, the individual had been arrested on an outstanding probation warrant. The 38 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed to attend court. While being processed by court officers, the individual became uncooperative and assaulted police. Mischief
A 51 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after being identified as the person responsible for causing damage to several vehicles at a west end business. On Friday May 17th 2024, St. Thomas police were contacted by the business owner who wished to report the mischief and damage. Through investigation and review of CCTV, officers identified the 51 year old St. Thomas resident. The individual was charged with one count of Mischief over $5,000 and one count of Mischief under $5,000 and a warrant for arrest was requested. On Monday May 20th, officers on community patrol located the individual and transported them to police headquarters where they were processed and released by the courts. ST24007998/ST24008212
A 38 year old St. Thomas resident is wanted by police. On Saturday May 18th 2024, police were called to an address on the southside of the city to investigate the report of broken a window. Through investigation, police learned a verbal argument between two individuals resulted in furniture being thrown and a window broken. As a result, the 38 year old has been charged with one count of Mischief under $5,000. On Monday May 20th 2024, police were called back to the same address as the individual had returned and caused further damage to property inside the home. The 38 year old has been additionally charged with one count of Mischief. A warrant for their arrest has been requested. ST24008075/ST24008240
Theft
St. Thomas police are currently investigating a gas drive off from a gas station on Talbot Street. Through investigation, officers learned that on Friday May 17th 2024, an unknown individual attended the business in a dark grey Mercedes and pumped approximately $40 of fuel into their vehicle. The driver made no attempt to pay. This remains under investigation. ST24008022
