Vehicle Entries 

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Myrtle Street. On Monday July 29th 2024, the vehicle owner contacted police to report that sometime in the overnight night hours their wallet, containing their identification and bank cards was stolen from their vehicle. No damage the vehicle was reported. ST24013108

A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle St. Joseph Street. On Monday July 29th 2024, the vehicle owner contacted police to report that their home monitoring system captured an unknown person on their property. A wallet, containing identification and bank cards was stolen from their vehicle. No damage the vehicle was reported. ST24013124

A vehicle on Chestnut Street was reported entered. On Monday July 29th 2024, the vehicle owner was alerted by their home monitoring system that captured an unknown person on their property. No damage the vehicle was reported. ST24013154

The St. Thomas Police Service are reminding the community to lock their vehicles and take valuables inside. Residents are encouraged to register their home surveillance cameras with the CamSafe,  an upgraded and enhancement of our existing camera registry program. CamSafe represents a significant leap forward in community-driven efforts to promote safety and combat crime effectively throughout our neighbourhoods.

Warrant Arrests 

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday July 29th 2024, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 after they were identified as the person responsible for a stealing a bike from a retail store earlier this month. The 38 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24013130

A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday July 29th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant that was issued earlier the same day, after they had failed to comply with their recent release conditions. The 46 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST24013153

Breach of Probation

A 17 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after failing to comply with their court mandated curfew. On Monday July 29th 2024, police were contacted in regards to the individual being out of their residence, outside of the hours of their curfew. The 17 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed to attend court. ST24013110

Theft

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after police were called to a retail store on Talbot Street to investigate the report of a theft that had occurred. Officers reviewed available video surveillance of the incident and identified the individual who was captured leaving the store with two pairs of headphones and an electric razor. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST24013129

Assault 

A 14 year old St. Thomas youth has been arrested after police were called to a disturbance downtown. Just before 10:30 p.m. officers were called to a Talbot Street address to investigate the report on an assault between a group of youth. Through investigation, police learned the 14 year old had physically assaulted another youth resulting in minor injuries. As a result, the St. Thomas youth has been charged with one count of Assault, one count of Mischief and one count of Uttering Threats. The 14 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24013175
