Assault with a Weapon

A 24 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a disturbance, last night. Just before 7 p.m. police were called to an address on Elgin Street for the report of an altercation that had moved onto the street. Upon arrival, officers located the parties involved and through investigation learned that a verbal argument between residents in the area had escalated, resulting in property damaged and several items being thrown by the accused at the victim.  A neighbour in the area attempting to help the situation, was physically assaulted by the accused. As a result, the 24 year old has been charged with Assault and Assault with a Weapon. The individual was transported to police headquarters to be processed. During processing, STPS were made aware of an outstanding warrant held by the London Police Service. LPS were contacted and attended St. Thomas to take custody of the individual. ST25001962

Impaired Operation

A 54 year old Aylmer resident has been arrested after an alert employee, called police. On Monday February 3rd 2025, police were called by an employee of a local restaurant who wished to report a possible impaired driver. A description of the individual and their vehicle was provided to police, who located the vehicle a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop. Through investigation, officers formed grounds that the driver was impaired and a roadside screening device was administered, resulting in a fail. The 54 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where further testing confirmed the individual to be impaired by nearly twice the legal of limit of alcohol. The 54 year was charged with Operation while Impaired Plus 80, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court. Their license has been suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed. Warrant Arrests 

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday February 3rd 2025, STPS were contacted by Stratford Police who had the individual in their custody on the strength of a warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation, stemming from an incident in August of 2023. Officers attended Stratford to assume custody of the individual and transport them to STPS HQ to be processed and attend court. ST25001940

A 57 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by our service for two counts of Assault and Failure to Comply with Release Order, has been arrested. On Monday February 3rd 2025 officers on community patrol located the individual who was transported to police headquarters to be processed. The 57 year old was later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25001942

A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday February 3rd 2025, STPS were contacted by Aylmer Police who has the individual in custody on the strength of a probation warrant. Custody was transferred to St. Thomas where the 33 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST25001958

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. This morning, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000. The 42 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST25001977

Failure to Comply 

A 42 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Failure to Comply with Probation Order after police were called to a retail store on Talbot Street, Sunday. Upon arrival, officers learned the 42 year old had previously been trespassed from the store and was additionally on conditions to not attend the area. A warrant for arrest has been requested. Food Fraud 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a ‘dine and dash’ incident. On Sunday February 2nd 2025, police were called to a restaurant on Talbot Street to investigate the report of two unknown individuals failing to pay for their meals. Through investigation officers learned the pair had attended the restaurant, ordered their food and were presented their bill of approximately $107 at the end of their service. The individuals then left the restaurant without paying. Video surveillance of the incident is being reviewed as police continue to investigate. ST25001921

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of two commercial vehicles being damaged with the copper wire from the vehicles, removed. On Monday February 3rd 2025, officers attended a business on Currah Road to investigate the incident that occurred sometime in the overnight hours. When arriving to work on Monday, an employee noticed the vehicles had been damaged and contacted police. This remains under investigation. ST25001936
