Assault
A 48 year old London resident has been arrested. On Wednesday October 4th 2023, St. Thomas police were called to a retail store on Sunset Drive for a disturbance. Upon arrival and after speaking to the parties involved it was learned that an altercation between a pedestrian and a driver had occurred. The pedestrian entered the retail store and the accused followed. In an attempt to stop the altercation, an employee of the retail store was assaulted. The accused had left the area prior to police arrival. Through investigation, the accused was identified and made aware that they had been charged with one count of Assault. The 48 year old London resident attended police headquarters to be processed and was later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23017675
A warrant has been requested for a 34 year old St. Thomas resident after police were called to a disturbance downtown. On Wednesday October 4th 2023, just after 10 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Talbot Street and Princess Avenue to investigate the report of an assault. Upon police arrival, the parties involved had left the area. The assault was captured on CCTV camera and as a result, a 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with one count of Assault. Mischief
On Wednesday October 4th 2023, STPS were called to a southside residence to investigate the report of a windshield of a parked vehicle being damaged. Through investigation it was learned that sometime overnight, the windshield was damaged with what is believed to be a pellet. Cameras are present in the area, but didn’t capture the incident. A warrant has been requested for a 38 year old St. Thomas resident after police were called to an incident on the southside of the city. Upon arrival and after speaking with residents in the area, it was learned that at approximately 1:15 p.m. the 38 year old kicked in the door of a neighbours house. The 38 year old, known to police has been charged with one count of Mischief. ST23017695
Warrant
A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Thursday October 5th 2023, officers on community patrol were interacting with the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding probation warrant for one count of breach of probation. The 37 year old was arrested, processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST23017728
R.I.D.E
Officers on community patrol conducted a RIDE spot check on Thursday October 5th at 1:30 a.m. Approximately 40 drivers were spoken to with no infractions found. ST23017727
Theft
Tires from an employees bike have been reported stolen from an address on Edward Street. On Wednesday October 4th 2023, police were called by the bike owner who reported that while at work an unknown person removed the tires from the bike that was secured to a fence in the area. The tires are 26″ Bontarter tires and valued at approximately $360. This remains under investigation. ST23017682
St. Thomas police are looking for assistance in identifying the individual seen in the photo below in relation to a theft that occurred at a retail store on Talbot Street on Tuesday October 3rd, 2023. It was reported that an unknown person entered the store wearing a backpack and proceeded to remove multiple pairs of jeans and 2 long-sleeves shirts from a display. The individual then entered a change room with the items and the backpack, exiting shortly after with just the backpack. The door alarms were triggered as the suspect left the store.
